Introduction to Web Technologies and Programming
Announcements:
Since web technologies were invented to share documents over the Internet,
they have been evolved into a new programming environment.
In the web programming environment, web documents are presented on a web browser in various forms and ways.
The documents can be read more easily and effectively with various user interface means.
Programming logic is also included in the web programming environment to provide more sophisticated user interface and access to databases.
Hence web documents have become rather web applications.
In this course, students are introduced to web programming and web applications environment that
includes client-side applications running on web browsers, server-side applications running on web server, and databases.
Students learn how to use major aspects of client-side components,
Hyper Text Markup Language (HTML) and
Cascading Style Sheets (CSS), for static web applications.
Hyper Text Markup Language is a standard language used for creating web applications and describes the structure of web contents.
Cascading Style Sheets is a language used for describing the presentation of web contents written in Hyper Text Markup Language.
Students learn interactive web programming with Cascading Style Sheets.
Students are introduced to the client-side script programming with JavaScript and Document Object Model (DOM) for further interactive web programming.
Students will learn web programming with the above major topics through many exercises and lab works.
